Trail Ambassador Program

Our Team MVP's are the Trail Ambassadors who serve the mountain in several capacities including assisting with trail maintenance, weekend support to the guests, rules and policy enforcement, and assisting with special events. These volunteers bring their enthusiasm for our trails to the mountain and help in ways that go unseen by most people.

DMRA Board of Directors

The authority shall file its charter with the secretary of state pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 48, Chapter 51. The charter shall be placed on record in the office of the register of deeds of Johnson County. Upon such recordation of its charter, the authority 2SB 3647 shall be authorized to function in accordance with the provisions of its charter and the provisions of this chapter. TCA 11-27-106.

(a) The authority shall be governed by a board of directors consisting of fifteen (15) members:

(1) The mayor of the county, or the mayor's designee; Larry Potter - coterminous – CHAIRMAN
(2) The mayor of the largest municipality within the county, or the mayor's designee; Jerry Jordan – coterminous
(3) The director of the Wildlife Resources Agency, or the director's designee; Bobby Wilson – coterminous – assigned Tim Sain as his proxy
(4) The Commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development, or the commissioner's designee; Lynn Tully – coterminous
(5) The Commissioner of the Department of Environment and Conservation, or the commissioner's designee; David Salyers – coterminous – assigned Gerald Parish as his proxy
(6) The Commissioner of the Department of Tourism Development, or the commissioner's designee; Mark Ezell – coterminous – assigned Dave Jones as his proxy
(7) One (1) member, appointed by the county mayor from a list of three (3) submitted by the board of directors of the county's chamber of commerce, who shall serve for a term of two (2) years; Frank Arnold – 2 year term expires 06/2025
(8) One (1) member, appointed by the county mayor, who shall be a resident of the county, and active in a locally organized conservation or outdoor recreation organization, who shall serve for a term of two (2) years; Kristy Herman – TREASURER, 2 year term expires 11/2024

(9) One (1) member, appointed by the governor, who shall have a background in conservation, who shall serve for a term of three (3) years; Ron Ramsey – 3 year term expires 09/2024
(10) One (1) member, appointed by the governor, who shall have experience in outdoor recreation planning, marketing, or operations, who shall serve for a term of three (3) years; Anthony Duncan - 2 year term expires 09/2024
(11) One (1) member, elected by majority vote of the governing body of the county, who shall serve for a term of two (2) years; Jerry Grindstaff – 2 year term expires 06/2025
(12) One (1) member, appointed by the Speaker of the Senate (Lieutenant Governor) in consultation with the member of the Senate representing the majority of the county's population, who shall serve for a term of two (2) years; VACANT
(13) One (1) member, appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives in consultation with the member of the House of Representatives representing the majority of the county's population, who shall serve for a term of two (2) years; Ray Stout – 2 year term expires 6/2024
(14) One (1) member, appointed by the governor from a list of three (3) names submitted by The Nature Conservancy, who shall serve for a term of three (3) years; and Gabby Lynch – 3 year term expires 9/2024 – Vice Chair
(15) One (1) member of the public at large, appointed by the governor, who shall be a resident of the county or an adjoining county and not otherwise affiliated with any of the groups identified above, who shall serve for a term of three (3) years.
